چکیده
This study focuses on Saudi teachers’ motivations regarding their choice of oral corrective feedback (OCF) forms, such as recasts, elicitations, and metalinguistic in foreign language (FL) contexts. Many previous studies choices OCF for these choices, have been conducted more communicative contexts where recasts are most commonly used, with the aim keeping communication going. The current study, contrast, aims to explore of, for, forms a accuracy-focused context. uses rigorous methods investigate 207 perceptions OCF, including 100 classroom observations, stimulated recall (SR) sessions 10 teachers further particular types reference learners’ uptake. findings demonstrate that consider be effective method correction students’ learning, especially case pronunciation errors, context emphasis is placed accuracy rather than maintaining flow communication. contrast meaning-focused contexts, were used maintain concludes by offering insights into some challenges FL might face suggests possible implications practice

Why Do Colours Look the Way They Do?
Amajor part of the mind–body problem is to explain why a given set of physical processes should give rise to perceptual qualities of one sort rather than another. Colour hues are the usual example considered here, and there is a lively debate as to whether the results of colour vision science can provide convincing explanations of why colours actually look the way they do. The internal phenomen...
متن کاملWhy do people jump the way they do?
When humans perform maximum height squat jumps, their segmental rotations contribute in a proximodistal sequence to the vertical acceleration of the center of gravity. The same kinematic pattern occurs in a forward dynamic model of the musculoskeletal system when muscle stimulation is optimized to maximize jump height. This paper examines why this kinematic pattern maximizes jump height in huma...
متن کاملUniversal Grammar and Chaos/Complexity Theory: Where Do They Meet And Where Do They Cross?
Abstract The present study begins by sketching "Chaos/Complexity Theory" (C/CT) and its applica-tion to the nature of language and language acquisition. Then, the theory of "Universal Grammar" (UG) is explicated with an eye to C/CT. Firstly, it is revealed that CCT may or may not be allied with a theory of language acquisition that takes UG as the initial state of language acquisition for ...
متن کاملThe timing of hibernation in Tasmanian echidnas: why do they do it when they do?
We investigated the patterns of hibernation and arousals in seven free-ranging echidnas Tachyglossus aculeatus setosus (two male, five female) in Tasmania using implanted temperature data loggers. All echidnas showed a 'classical' pattern of mammalian hibernation, with bouts of deep torpor interrupted by periodic arousals to euthermia (mean duration 1.04+/-0.05 (n=146). Torpor bout length incre...
متن کاملTwo Collaborative Feedback Models in EFL Writing Instruction: Do They Make a Difference?
Research in L1 writing has found numerous benefits of employing collaborative learning in the classroom. The research findings on group work provide clear evidence that engaging learners in group activities increases opportunities for students to engage in the negotiation of meaning, which further leads to better acquisition. The present study, implementing two different collaborative feedback ...
